McLean Model 600
Production & Second Operation Lathe
In the spectrum of lathes, from hand operated to CNC, we feel we’ve developed an affordable compromise.
Versatility & Efficiency
Taking a lathe with a 9” swing, we’ve added air powered slides with a controller to operate the movement of the collet, spindle, and each slide. This allows an unskilled operator to make thousands of parts with greater speed and accuracy than with comparably priced lathes. With the versatility of the McLean System, you have an effective alternative to higher-priced equipment.
2 axis production lathe
This machine is well-suited for dedicated applications, or it can be changed over to run multiple parts. The Model 600 can be placed alongside of a CNC lathe, screw machine, or molding machine to allow the operator to perform a second operation.
The Model 600 comes standard with a Front Slide and a Tail Slide. Other slides, including our heavy-duty slides, are also available. McLean slides are air-powered with a hydraulically controlled feed.
The controller features a Touch Screen and PLC. The controller operates the sequencing of the slides, spindle RPM & direction, and duration of operation. It provides program storage for six different parts and includes Total Cycle Counter.
